I think that the passage is difficult to understand, so remember to read it slowly to digest it, and ask God to help you understand.
Personally, I think I have not been doing good works. It's not just about donating money and all that, but encouraging each other, serving, and glorifying God's name is what it's all about. And, good works should not have motives. I think I do things sometimes because I can gain something out of it. ):
